North Mountain Park

Wasn't sure if McKenzie's class would be able to go on their field trip today to North Mountain Park in Ashland. The weather looked pretty grim but the rain held off until after they got back to school. Thank you Lord. They're learning about pioneering. Each child had their chance to pan for gold. "Eureka! I'm rich!," McKenzie said after finding her small find.

Shells and Cheese

Callie's favorite food these days is "Annie's Shells and Cheese." When I got home from work with a grocery bag from Shop-n-Kart with her favorite food inside, she wanted me to fix it for her and I wouldn't because Daddy already made her a dinner that she didn't eat. She was so mad because she didn't get her way, she took the shells and cheese box to bed with her. When she awoke the following morning the first thing out of her cute little mouth was "want shells and cheese please." Callie never got her shells and cheese today but I'll make it for her tomorrow.

School Dance

Took the girls to the schools 70's dance on Friday. They had fun. Got McKenzie's shirt from Target and I made Callie's shirt. The head piece, I found at a little shop in Ashland called Paddington Station.
Somebody asked me what it is like to be a parent and I told them "It's like walking around the rest of your life with your heart outside your body." When I see my girls, my heart melts with joy. I love these girls so very much.

Going For It!

I finally did it. I'm an official "blogger." I really want to find an easy way to document my families life and all the great things that happen. So here it goes. Getting ready for the school "Jog-A-Thon" on May 20th at Bellview Elementary in Ashland, Oregon. Matt and I went down to Cascade Athletic in Medford to get 35 playground balls for the girl/boy winner in each classroom. Picked up some recipe cards for the kids to record their laps completed and then off to Quizno's for a quick bite to eat. Callie, my beautiful almost 3 year old was not wanting to keep her boots on in the restaruant and only wants to eat the soda and chips that mommy had. Don't know what to do with you sometimes but I know I'm wrong for giving you what you want just to avoid the tantrum that I know will follow and wanting to avoid all the stares and comments from strangers. Picked up McKenzie from school and took the both of you to the pediatrician in Ashland for your first round of the new "Hep.A" booster. McKenzie did great! Didn't shed a tear but Callie cried a little afterwards and kept looking down at her new bandaid that was placed over the injection site on her leg and kept crying. Got you home soon after that and put you down for a nap. I love you McKenzie and Callie. You are the best things that have ever happened to me.
This photo was taken of Callie in February in the back of my car, while waiting for McKenzie to get out of school.
