Signs of Spring and a Quote.

Hello Spring... Good Bye Winter.  Yeah!!!

Took this shot this afternoon.  Our crocusses are blooming and I can see the beginning of daffodils emerging from the ground.

Callie Bee.

The other day, she found this bee costume that was worn by her sister.  On it went and I had a bee busily buzzing around the house.  I tried to get her out of it and into her jammies for the night but it wasn't coming off.  So off to bed she went... bee costume and all.

Right Now.

A very unproductive day.  Feeling rather tired and don't really feel like doing much around the house but watching t.v. and trying to keep Callie entertained.   McKenzie is still in Portland with her grandparents and Callie and I are stuck in the house due to a foggy, rainy day.  Trying to keep Callie from tearing the house appart because she has nothing to do.   Currently she is playing with a box that once contained diaper wipes.  She has two puzzles that she loves tearing appart and putting together.  She has successfully completed both puzzles several times today.

Now we are just waiting for Matt to come home.  He has been cutting firewood in the rain.  Now doesn't that sound like fun?

A Photo and A Quote.

One of my favorite photos I took last week.  I just had to post this along with a quote I found.

B.D. Gulledge:  I used to sit on the banks with a raft and watch the water roll lazily by.  One day I pushed my raft into the shallows of the water and found the water moved swifter than I thought.  My raft was actually a boat.  Then, after some time, I rowed my little boat into deeper water.  There were great storms, mighty winds, tremendous waves, and sometimes I felt so alone.  But I have noticed my little rowboat is now a mighty ship manned by my friends and loved ones; and beautiful calm seas, warm sunny days, and nights filled with comforable dreams always double after a storm.  Now, I could never go back and sit on the bank.  In fact, I search for deeper water.  Such is life when lived.

Have a great day!

Callie.

Spending the day with Callie at Lithia Park.  McKenzie is with my folks in Portland and it's so nice to just have some down time.  Time I can just focus on Callie.  Wasn't so sure how the day would go.  When everybody got up, it was snowing outside.  Sigh!!!  Thankfully it stopped mid morning and the two of us made it to our local farmers market, where we each had a donut.  I'm really enjoying the market this year.  Wonderful music playing and the whole atmosphere just makes me think of spring.  Afterwards, we went to the park.  One of her favorite things to do is swing.  After we left the park, made a stop at my favorite recycled childrens clothing store and picked up a few summer things for Callie.

I love these plum trees.  Lots of lovelies blooming around here and just loving it all.  I so enjoy this time of the year.  All the colors and that fresh smell in the air.  Ok. time to get the chocolate chip cookies out of the oven.  I don't ever feel like making them from scratch, so Costco has some awesome pre-formed cookie balls and all I have to do is spread them out onto a cookie sheet.  Yum! Yum!

'tis a fine day to be Irish.

Found this cute leprechaun in our backyard this afternoon.

I raise my glass to you; even if it is only a coffee (not made Irish, thank you.)  Happy St. Patrick's Day to all.

Donut Date.

After soccer camp today, we went to our local farmers market to have a donut with a friend of yours.  We called it a "donut date."  Must do this again soon.

There was no prying that donut away from Callie's face.  Callie would walk around the market donut in both hands and she'd have that thing pushed so hard against her face, you would think she was trying to eat the napkin too.

McKenzie's Introduction.

McKenzie's coach introducing her to her playmates and a shot of McKenzie going for a goal.

Some Playtime before Soccer Practice.

The girls had a chance to play in the huge volley ball sand pit before McKenzie started her first soccer practice for the season.  She is playing in the Ashland Soccer Club and she's so excited to have a couple of her classmates playing with her.  I'm excited that Callie has something to entertain her for an hour while big sister completes her practice twice a week.

Tickle Torture Daddy Style.

Last night you slept in our bed.  You just weren't feeling good.  Gave you some Tylenol and you slept all night.  The next morning you woke up in a pretty good mood.  Had your dose of morning cartoons and a granola bar.  As the day progressed, you got pretty grumpy... gave you more Tylenol and had you in bed by 6pm.  Decided to do that after you didn't want to eat a spaghetti dinner with chicken balls (replacement for meat balls).

The Mini Dress.

The other day, you found this skirt in your dresser.  Instead of wearing it the correct way, you decided to hike it way up your waist.  I'm not sure you're ready for the fashion industry yet.
